Your First Visit

We ask that you complete New Patient paperwork when you arrive. To save you time, we encourage you to download these forms and fill them out before coming to your appointment. In addition, please bring your insurance card and driver’s license. We will ask for a copy of each of these when you arrive.

You will then consult with Dr. Corsello. This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have. A physical exam will be performed, which may include orthopedic testing, reflex assessments, muscle testing, and other chiropractic evaluation. If you elect to proceed with the Atlas Orthogonal technique, Dr. Corsello will then take a series of four x-rays of your cervical spine.

Dr. Corsello will then ask you to schedule an appointment for your first adjustment. The reason why Dr. Corsello cannot treat you on the same day is because it takes him about 45 minutes to carefully analyze your films and determine a plan for your specific spinal adjustment. When you check out of this appointment, you will receive a packet that will explain in detail about the Atlas Orthogonal treatment.

Your Second Visit

On the second visit, Dr. Corsello will explain the results of his analysis of your x-rays. Then, he will give you your first Atlas Orthogonal adjustment. To determine the position of your spine post-adjustment, he will then take two more x-ray films of your cervical spine. This visit will take approximately 1 hour. He will send you home with a cervical collar that you are advised to wear for two hours after every adjustment and a “Protecting Your Spine” packet, which contains instructions on how to achieve maximal results from your adjustment. You should then plan to see Dr. Corsello again within a 24-hour period.

Your Third Visit

At this visit, Dr. Corsello will discuss with you his analysis of the x-rays taken of your spine post-correction and then discuss with you a course of action to resolve your condition.

Correction

Your alignment will need to be monitored for at least 3-4 weeks to determine stability of the correction as well as your body's rate of recovery. You can expect to have your spinal alignment checked two times a week for two weeks, and any further monitoring will be determined by your doctor based in the success of your initial 2 weeks of care.

Dr. Corsello may also recommend complementary therapies that he offers to help you to achieve optimal health and function.

Patient Education

The Corsello Clinic sponsors a “Spinal Health Class,” featuring the film, The Power of Upper Cervical on the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm at the Clinic as a courtesy to both our patients and the general public. The film will help you to understand more about the Atlas Orthogonal technique.

We also sponsor talks on other health topics. It is never too early (or too late!) to learn the basics of good health and how to restore, as well as maintain it throughout ones life. It is easier, more rewarding and much less costly to prevent, rather than react to, an illnesses requiring complex drug programs and high-risk surgeries.
